WPGA's Samuel Gunnik takes the 2nd stage and Watersley's Ben Morin takes the 3rd stage. (video)
Video by: Job de Feijter; Foto van Edwin van het WesteindeOn Saturday morning, a time trial was scheduled in the pouring rain. Samuel Gunnink (Wielerploeg Groot Amsterdam) started early and was therefore able to benefit from a relatively drier road surface and claimed victory ahead of the Czech Daniel Kubena (Roman Kreuziger Cycling Academy). The latter became the new leader in the general classification with his second place.
Kubena barely retained that leading position in the evening of the third stage. The Canadian Ben Morin (Gepla-Watersley) had escaped in the final lap and soloed to victory with a 29-second lead on the peloton. That was two seconds too short to take over the lead in the general classification.
